Owners' Perspective: Why we love 172 Clifton Pl

Dear guests:
Welcome! I have really loved and enjoyed this house and neighborhood. Many fond memories filled the space over many years.
I always found the Dutch Colonial architecture of this house charming and inviting.
The openness of the main floor made it a fabulous entertaining area where friends and family could relax in the front sunroom, through the great room and dining room, while awaiting the good things that wafted out of the kitchen or grill on the deck.
The house was a fixer upper when purchased and a lot of thought and care was put in to the improvements.
I never thought replacing windows would bring me such happiness. When I replaced permanent windows (that were built to not open) with new windows that opened, it was amazing. The cool Spring and Fall breezes circulating through the downstairs added new life to an already comfortable atmosphere.
Many a night was spent relaxing on the back deck watching the fireflies or listening to the rain cool off the day. Mornings often started sitting on the deck listening to the morning doves and other birds wake up while the sun peeked over the trees.
Ramps were constructed off the deck for my aging dogs. The grassy yard brought them happiness and the security fence brought me comfort while I was away from home.
The full basement and full attic provided more than ample storage and room for projects.
Relaxing in the whirlpool tub upstairs often followed a tough day at work or tough work out at the gym.
Eastwood’s nickname is “the village within the city” and I found the nickname to be very appropriate. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and the neighbors are wonderful. I can’t say enough about the neighbors.
Convenience is always key with our busy lifestyles. The proximity to Wegman’s, Walgreen’s, the shops on James Street and Shop City Plaza is quite the amenity and something that will be missed.
Sunnycrest Park, a block away, provided a safe spot to walk with the dogs, play tennis, golf, or take kids to the playground without having to pack up and drive somewhere.
While I am excited to move close to family and start the next chapter, one of the hardest parts is leaving such a cozy house. Now it’s your turn to fill it with happiness and memories.
Susan and family
