Have you heard of Board & Bar Charcuterie? We recently met with the owners, Nick and Laurie Salvetti, to learn more about their business (and to try some of their delicious boards, of course)!

Nick and Laurie first came up with this idea one night during quarantine when they couldn’t decide what to have for dinner. Knowing they had a ton of leftovers, they figured, “Why not create our own little smorgasbord and throw everything together?” 

Nick, who has spent his entire career as a chef, was the previous owner of “Défi” -- a high-end restaurant formerly located at 208 W Water Street in Syracuse. Laurie was previously a childhood educator, and has worked in the restaurant industry her whole life at her family's restaurant.

Opening a business in the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic was definitely not an easy thing to do. However, Board & Bar has been such a success and they have never looked back! Nick and Laurie say that their favorite part about owning this type of restaurant is that people get to come in, hang out and converse over the food. This isn’t the type of meal that has people sitting in silence scrolling on their phones until the check comes - it’s the type that really brings you back to the roots of what a meal with family and friends should be about.

Nick and Laurie are always trying to give back to their community in any way that they can. Right now, when you purchase a “Bulldog Board” or a “Bulldog Cocktail”, a portion of it will be donated to the Nottingham High School 2022 Seniors. Those proceeds will go towards their Caps & Gowns and anything extra for their Prom. But this is just the start! Nick says they always have something new and exciting up their sleeves...

Board & Bar Charcuterie is constantly changing their delicious menu and has so many plans for the future. From the Traditional Board, to the Bagel Board, to the Carrot Cake Board, EVERYTHING is a must try!
