Bug, Bear & Bean

If you're a candle lover (or even just a sucker for delectable scents), then we MUST introduce you to one of our favorite local businesses, Bug, Bear & Bean!

We recently met with the business owner, Nikki E., to learn how she came up with the idea of starting her own candle company and to explore the products she offers.

The name “Bug, Bear & Bean” actually came from the nicknames that she uses for her three children! Nikki came up with this idea after noticing the use of the toxic chemicals in the normal household candle. She then found an alternative to still having the same amazing scents with no toxins and, after many trials, found her best option to be Soy! She told us how difficult it was to come up with a candle that has a scent that was strong enough. It took her 7 months to come up with the perfect concoction, and she certainly mastered it!  

This March, Bug, Bear & Bean celebrated their 1 year anniversary of opening their doors in Eastwood at 2721 James Street. Nikki is more than happy to say that business has been consistently growing ever since. 

Nikki has many scents she recommends, but some of her personal favorites are “Mama’s Kitchen” and “Good Vibes Only”. Bug, Bear & Bean is constantly releasing new scents and will be launching another branch of the Lux Collection closer to Mother’s Day.

We can personally vouch for our two favorites, also “Mama’s Kitchen”, and “Lemon Pound Cake”. We bought a TON of these to use as gifts for our clients - and, of course, we couldn't resist taking a few home!
