The Cider Mill

Have you ever heard of The Cider Mill? We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with co-owner, Dan Seeley, to learn a little bit more about their business and what they have to offer!

Dan found his passion for culinary arts at a very young age. He began cooking around the age of 13 years old and always felt it was more of a hobby than it would be a lifestyle. Dan ended up going to college to pursue his baseball career while he studied business. Since deciding to become a cook a little later in his life than he had wished, he decided the only way to learn would be by experiencing it first-handedly. 

Dan and his wife opened this business about 7 years ago and it has tremendously grown ever since – all organically by the power of social media! Before opening their doors at 4221 Fay Road, Dan worked at his other business, Diamond Catering, which has been around for over 20 years and still operates out of the upstairs of The Cider Mill. 

When we asked Dan what his favorite part about The Cider Mill is and what makes his business stand out most, he could not stop listing the reasons. From the hospitality to the menu, everything about this place is supposed to feel like home. The Seeley’s try to keep it as homey as possible by hosting events such as baby showers, rehearsal dinners, and any other types of events you are thinking about planning!

The Cider Mill changes their menu with the seasons and they are currently on their Spring menu. With favorites from Chicken Riggies to steak dinners, to chicken and biscuits, everything is made like a home-cooked meal! All of these new and creative items are crafted by Dan and the collaboration of all of the chefs in the kitchen – AND THAT’S NOT ALL! The Cider Mill not only has a full bar with 18 taps, but they also have one of the widest bourbon selections in the CNY area!

Dan and his wife recently bought a 1928 Bungalow right next to The Cider Mill that they are currently renovating to turn into an Airbnb. When you book the house, it will secure you a reservation and you can decide where you want to eat, whether that is in the restaurant, at the bungalow, or even on the back patio of the home. Plus, there will be a full line of wine and spirits available in the home for you to help yourself to.

The Cider Mill is open every Tuesday through Friday from 5:00pm and they take reservations till about 9/9:30pm everyday. With The Cider Mill at an all-time peak right now with no plans of slowing down, reservations are deeply encouraged and appreciated.
